Getting Started
Quick Start Guide
From signup to your first AI-handled call — here's how to get Vozko up and running for your restaurant.
Step 1: Create your account
Sign up at vozko.ai/signup. Choose a plan that matches your restaurant's size and needs. You can upgrade later.
Step 2: Complete onboarding
The guided onboarding wizard walks you through the essentials:
- Restaurant name, address, and contact info
- Operating hours (set per day of the week)
- Timezone for accurate time handling
- Default language for the AI voice agent
If you have multiple locations, you'll add them after onboarding.
Step 3: Import your menu
Navigate to Menu. Upload a PDF of your current menu or add items manually.
- PDF import: Upload your menu PDF. AI extracts items, prices, descriptions, and ingredients. Review and approve.
- Manual entry: Add items one by one with name, price, description, ingredients, allergens, and dietary labels.
- Categories: Organize items into categories (Appetizers, Entrees, etc.)
- Photos: Upload photos for each item (optional).
Step 4: Set up availability
Configure your availability so the AI knows when to accept bookings.
- Option A: If you set business hours in onboarding, use "Generate Slots" to auto-create slots for the next 30 days.
- Option B: Manually create slots from the Calendar page — pick dates, times, and capacity.
Each slot has a capacity (e.g., 20 seats) and a booked count that tracks automatically.
Step 5: Connect a phone number
Vozko needs a phone number to answer calls. Go to Settings → Phone Numbers.
- Purchase a new number: Search by area code or country and buy a number instantly.
- Port an existing number: If you already have a restaurant phone number, you can port it to Vozko.
Once a number is connected, calls are automatically routed to your AI voice agent. The AI will answer using your restaurant's name, hours, and menu.
Step 6: Configure the knowledge base
Add custom knowledge that the AI should know about your restaurant. Go to Settings → Knowledge Base.
You can add entries like:
- FAQ — "Do you have parking?" → "Yes, we have free valet parking."
- Policies — "What's your cancellation policy?" → "Free cancellation up to 2 hours before."
- Greeting — Customize how the AI introduces itself
- Custom — Anything else the AI should know
Step 7: Set up messaging
Configure SMS and WhatsApp channels for automated guest communications.
- Choose default channels (SMS, WhatsApp, or both)
- Confirmations are sent automatically when a reservation is made
- Reminders are sent 24 hours before and on the day of the reservation
Twilio handles message delivery. Vozko ships with Twilio pre-configured — you just need to add your Twilio credentials or use Vozko's built-in provisioning.
Step 8: Connect Google Calendar (optional)
Sync reservations with Google Calendar so your team can see bookings from any device. Go to Settings → Google Calendar and connect your Google account.
Step 9: Test and go live
Before publishing, test your setup:
- Call your Vozko number and try booking a reservation
- Ask about menu items and hours
- Check that the dashboard shows your test reservation
- Verify SMS confirmations are sent
- Test a cancellation to see the recovery flow
Once everything looks good, you're live! Vozko is now handling your restaurant's calls 24/7.
